It really is kind of fun......

All of us has been there.... you are going through your inbox and there it is. The "Getting to know your friends" survey. You get them monthly at least. The questions are the same..
  • what kind of car do you drive?
  • when was the last time you cried?
  • who do you think will respond the quickest?

blah, blah, blah...... But I have to admit...although I get tired of filling out the same questions (and sometimes I don't), I really do enjoy reading others answers. Sometimes they are the usual....but sometimes, just sometimes, someone pulls a fast one on you and you actually learn something about them that you didn't know before.

The latest in this line of emails is a "Holiday Edition" of Getting to Know Your Friends. And I have to admit, no holds barred, I really have enjoyed reading everyones answers. It has almost been as much fun as opening a present from each one of them. So here goes...... Here are the questions.... Answer as many or as few as you like. But know this, each one you answer is like a little gift to me. 'Tis the season.

  1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
  2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
  3. Colored lights on tree/house or just white?
  4. Do you hang mistletoe?
  5. When do you put up your decorations?
  6. What is your favorite holiday dish, (not dessert)?
  7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
  8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
  9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
  10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
  11. Snow! Love it or dread it?
  12. Can you ice skate?
  13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
  14. What's the most important thing about the holidays for you?
  15. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
  16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
  17. What tops your tree?
  18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
  19. What is your favorite Christmas song?
  20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?

I will post again with my answers and some the ones that gave me warm fuzzy feelings....(If anyone cares...)

1) Can I say both? If I had to choose, it might be egg nog.
2) Wraps
3) White lights only
4) No mistletoe
5) The day after Thanksgiving
6) Sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top
7) The fury with which my sisters and I opened our presents. No "one at a time" in our house while I was growing up.
8) I have no recollection. It must have been traumatic and I must have blocked it.
9) Not now, but I did as a child.
10) I changed the theme last year from formal to rustic. I let the boys do most of the ornament hanging. Then I rearrange when they're not looking:)
11) Love it!
12) No
13) A horse statue I really wanted. It began my collection of them as a kid.
14) I absolutely love shopping for other people and giving them the gifts that I put so much thought into selecting.
15) Magic Cookie Bars
16) Not so much a tradition, but I love being up late on Christmas Eve with TMS and placing the presents under the tree. The house is so quiet and the tree is so pretty. I love the anticipation of the coming morning. I still have trouble getting to sleep on Christmas Eve.
17) A lit-up star
18) Giving, by far.
19) Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
20) Yuck.
